Accident Reconstruction
The Accident Reconstruction Course is an in-depth, 8-hour program divided into four parts, designed to provide a solid foundation and working expertise in analyzing and reconstructing motor vehicle accidents. This course offers a unique perspective tailored specifically for doctors, enabling you to bridge the gap between clinical care and the physics of trauma.
By understanding accident dynamics and causality, you gain an invaluable diagnostic tool for determining the origin and extent of your patients’ injuries. Through topics ranging from skid mark analysis to crumple zone evaluation, this course equips you with the skills to accurately reconstruct collision events and correlate mechanical forces with clinical outcomes—enhancing your ability to deliver precise, evidence-based patient care.
Dr. Mark Studin and the Academy of Chiropractic understand that credentials matter. Attorneys, medical specialists, medical primary care provders, and other co-treating professionals recognize the importance of verified expertise. This program carries approvals for both CE (chiropractic) and CME (medical) accreditation across every state that authorizes online education—ensuring our graduates earn credentials that command respect and trust.
Module 1: Foundational Principles — Terms, Concepts & Core Definitions
Duration: 2 Hours
Gain a comprehensive understanding of key terminology, foundational principles, and essential definitions that form the backbone of trauma, biomechanics, and injury analysis.
Module 2: Causality and the Dynamics of Injury — Force, Crumple Zones & Critical Documentation
Duration: 2 Hours
Explore the science of causality and bodily injury through the lens of physics, force transfer, and vehicle crumple zones. Learn to connect these principles to clinical findings and master the documentation that supports medical-legal causation.
Module 3: Forensic Accident Reconstruction — Skid Marks, Time, Distance, Velocity & Speed Calculations
Duration: 2 Hours
Delve into real-world physics by calculating time, distance, velocity, and speed to understand their contribution to bodily injury mechanisms. Discover how accident reconstruction data correlates to tissue damage and patient outcomes.
Module 4: Evidence-Based Correlation — Research, Causality & Bodily Injury
Duration: 2 Hours
Integrate peer-reviewed research with clinical and biomechanical findings to establish clear causality between trauma and injury. Strengthen your ability to defend conclusions with credible, research-based support.

Course Objective: This
module, created by William DeBlasio BS, MA and Mark Studin DC, gives a
detailed explanation of the critical terms, concepts and tools required
to understand the accident and subsequent bodily injuries. The force of
an accident, as described by the principles of physics and the various
safety measures taken by manufacturers and governmental agencies to
counteract those forces to protect vehicle occupants, which often cause
bodily injury, will be detailed.
Instructors:
Mark Studin DC, FPSC, FASBE (C), DAAPM
William DeBlasio BS, MA, Engineer,
Accident Reconstructionist
