The AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, 6th Edition has established a new paradigm for determining Whole Person Impairment (WPI). Under this updated framework, the use of range of motion as a criterion for impairment ratings is no longer permitted.
This comprehensive course provides detailed instruction on the current criteria, along with the clinical rationale and physiological principles necessary to accurately interpret and apply them. Participants will gain a clear understanding of the underlying clinical science, including spine and neurological considerations frequently encountered in cases requiring impairment assessments. These multidisciplinary insights are essential, as most spinal trauma cases involve conditions extending beyond the spine itself.
When engaging in the medical-legal environment—whether in personal injury, workers’ compensation, or other impairment rating contexts—this program equips you with the knowledge, skills, and credentials required for your opinions to be recognized and admissible.
