This program focuses on the trends in healthcare and how clinical chiropractic fits into the national trends. It shows the doctor of chiropractic the critical role of compliant documentation in reputation building and to prevent adverse legal issues with complaint records. The course also covers the latest MRI spine interpretation terminology and identifies biomechanical pathology using the latest mensurating tools available.
Module 1
Mark Studin DC, FASBE(C), DAAMLP, DAAPM: Current healthcare trends and the state of chiropractic in the COVID-19 era. Lawyers continue to need answers to carriers' lower settlements during the pandemic, and you will learn how to be their solution. ER's and Urgent Care Centers are to capacity testing and treating. They need a solution for spinal issues, and you will learn how to position your practice to be that solution that will last well-beyond COVID. Trends tell us where the marketplace has shifted, and we have created a business strategy to meet those needs.
Module 2
Michael Schonfeld DC, DABCO: The narrative report. How to effectively create medical-legal documentation and what the courts look for. Making your "4-Corner" (narrative) report demonstrable and build a reputation as an evidence-based provider. The step-by-step minutiae of building a report. Part 1
Module 3
Mark Studin DC, DAAMLP, DAAPM, FASBE(C), The latest nomenclature in MRI spine interpretation
[lots of changes], and incorporating spinal biomechanics to create an accurate
diagnosis and get paid. The reason medicine gets paid more than chiropractic is
they have demonstrable diagnostics. We must institute protocols that WE ALREADY
HAVE to confirm patho-neuro-biomechanical lesions [Subluxations] are
present. A "MASTER CLASS" in Strain-Sprain in fully
understanding the permanency of this connective tissue disorder and how to certify
long-term care with a demonstrable diagnosis.
Module 4
Kevin Baker MD, Radiology, MSK Radiology: Identifying different types of arthritis in both plain
film and MRI. Inclusive of Osteo, Psoriatic, Rheumatoid, Gout, Infections, and
Spondyloarthropathies. Dr. Baker is an Assistant Professor of Clinical
Radiology at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, School of
Medicine, and teaches the radiology and MSK radiology programs.
Module 5
Mark Studin DC, DAAMLP, DAAPM, FASBE(C), Master-Class in ligaments; anatomy, physiology, vascularization, neurological innervation, tissue repair and how they all relate to clinical practice. Ligament pathology correlating to the mechanisms of patho-neuro-biomechanical lesions (vertebral subluxation complex). Also, how ligaments play a critical role in the chiropractic spinal adjustment and idefining the chiropractic spinal adjustment mechanisms.
Module 6
Don Capoferri DC, DAAMLP, FSBT: Case Management incorporating Spinal Biomechanics, MRI, and clinical findings when collaborating with medical specialists and lawyers. Using Case Management as the foundation for both consistent referrals and long-term forensic consulting relationships. During the height of the first wave of COVID, he received 24 PI referrals from lawyers and MD's based upon his demonstrative reporting of Patho-Neuro-Biomechanical pathology [vertebral subluxations], negating the false assertion of non-specific back pain. If they can see it, they will refer.
Module 7
Michael Schonfeld DC, DABCO: The narrative report. How to effectively create medical-legal documentation and what the courts look for. Making your "4-Corner" (narrative) report demonstrable and build a reputation as an evidence-based provider. The step-by-step minutiae of building a report. Part 2
Module 8
Magdy Shady MD, Neurosurgeon, Neuro Trauma Fellow: A roundtable discussion of collaborative spine care. Dr. Shady has 30 years of extensive experience in both working with and supporting chiropractic care.
Module 9
Mark Studin DC, FASBE(C), DAAMLP, DAAPM: Chiropractic vs. Physical Therapy vs. medication for mechanical spine issue; extensive research verifying chiropractic as the best first choice, resolving the non-specific back pain issue as dogma, with the evidence. The latest [overwhelming] research will institute the re-direction of MD referral patterns from PTs to DCs. The latest physiological basis for why the chiropractic adjustment works and what constitutes a patho-neuro-biomechanical lesion [Subluxations]. Mandatory actions to take right now during COVID.

**CME Credits are for Medical Doctors and Doctors of Chiropractic and only approved for 30 CME Credits
PART 1 Research Topics: 22 Hours
Modic Changes, Disc and Referred Pain, MRI and Cervical Musculature, Kinetic MRI Images, Neurological Innervation, MRI and Injury Mechanisms, Discogenic Pain, Annular Tears and Fissures, Asymptomatic Herniations. The candidate must study 15 contemporary research articles related to MRI physics, utilization, disc pathology, intradural pathology, extradural pathology, morphology, sequencing, anomalies, anatomy and take 15 examinations related to the above topics.
PART 2 Live Study: 8 Hours
The candidate must sit before Robert Peyster MD, CAQ, Neuroradiology and review 60 MRI sequences (over 2500 images) and identify disc bulges, circumferential, radial and transverse fissures, varices, and herniations inclusive of the following types; protrusion, extrusions (sequestered and migrated/comminuted extrusions). MRI sequencing for accurate interpretation with contemporary nomenclature and reporting.
PART 3 Publish a Case Report: 10 Hours
The candidate must publish an original "case report" where MRI has impacted either a diagnosis, prognosis or treatment plan in clinical practice. This paper must include images, appropriate references and will be peer-reviewed by a panel of peers for acceptance. The Academy of Chiropractic will be responsible for having the paper published. The candidate must author the article and utilize the following guideline:
Case reports present the details of real patient cases from medical or clinical practice. Cases may contribute significantly to the existing knowledge on the field or showcase fewer novel results. The report is expected to discuss the signs, symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment of a disease. A goal of case reports is to make other researchers aware of the possibility that a specific phenomenon might occur.
Case reports are limited to 20 references and contain the following sections: abstract, introduction, case presentation, discussion, conclusions, references.
Fee: $3000
